dude, you just reminded me of that song and i got chills. have to listen to it. i forgot what i wrote about this show so i had to go reread it, hope it doesn’t come across too negative cos it was a pretty great show.

first, domestica is an incredibly good album.

second, you’re right about the deconstructing a song thing, and white stripes and bright eyes both do that well live.

third, i listen to alot of self-deprecating music. cursive and kasher’s other band the good life are definitely the most self-deprecating. anybody could quickly get sick of or be put off by that in the wrong mood or environment. i think even kasher has to admit that. but oh, when it’s on, it’s on. i could easily get rid of twothirds of kasher’s discography and not be heartbroken, but that last third is an essential (mostly 98-03).

and finally, i’m gonna go check out that what have i done? song now.

I like the sounds of this place. Vino’s is a little more on the venue side but they just don’t have a lot of great shows anymore.
Who puts iceberg lettuce in a salad these days? Seriously.

There’s a pizza place here in Norfolk that I bet you’d like, called Cogans. They literally have at least 15 beers on tap. It’s got a good atmosphere and the pizza is good American stuff. The music is a little harsh for my taste but talking to some of the locals the place has evolved over the years from being a bar / punk rock venue into being more of a pizza place with very occasional musical events, so that makes sense I guess. Damgoode sounds like its name is a very accurate description. I too love those other, funny looking greens in a salad.
